Visa 491 Business Plan

The subclass 491 visa is the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional). It enables eligible skilled workers and their families to migrate to the regional areas of Australia to live, work and pursue education. This visa will make you suitable to stay in Australia for 5 years.

Currently, the Australian government is offering 2 streams for the 491 visa. Those are:

1. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa as a Main applicant

As a visa holder under this subclass 491, you can stay in Australia for 5 years and work and study in a designated regional area. You can travel anywhere as many times as long as the visa is valid. It will also let you apply for permanent residence after 3 years of this visa being granted.

2. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa as a Subsequent entrant

As a subsequent entrant, you must be a family member of someone currently holding a Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491). This will let you stay in Australia as long as the principal applicant’s visa is valid.

To be nominated by a state or territory government, you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via SkillSelect and score enough points. Before you apply for an EOI, make sure you do the following:

• Check if your occupation is on the eligible skilled occupation list.
• Get a suitable skill assessment by an assessing authority listed against your occupation list.
• Have at least 65 points on the point test.

As the principal applicant, your work experience and skills before making an EOI are crucial in determining the eligibility for your nomination. As a result, a business plan needs to demonstrate your efforts and experience adequately. It should contain:

• Business overview
• Properly executed market research.
• Competitor analysis
• Marketing and Sales plan
• Financial statements with 2-3 years projections
• Risk assessment
